Want to find your mind?

Want to find your mind? Learn to direct your dreams This article in NewScientist made me nostalgic for the days when I remembered my dreams. There was a time when I was very young when I could lucid dream. For many years I could remember my dreams. Somehow over the past several years I have forgotten how to remember my dreams. It may have started out as a self-defense mechanism as most of my dreams for a long time were nightmares. But those days of anxiety, fear and rage are over. Maybe it is time to teach myself to remember again.

It’s been fun to see all the comments on this story because I got sort of obsessed with lucid dreaming when I was in high school. Yet somehow despite all my practice I was only ever able to have a few spontaneous lucid dreams, never induced ones.

A really good way to improve dream recall is to keep a dream journal. I was never very good at that because I never wanted to wake myself up enough to write down what I remembered, but maybe an iPhone dictation app or something might help.
